Product Overview: The Fire-Resistant Fastening Solution

Our Zinc Alloy Hammer Drive Anchor (widely known in the trade as the Zamac Nailin, Metal Hit Anchor, or Mushroom Head Anchor) is a light-duty concrete anchor designed for permanent installation. It consists of two parts: a corrosion-resistant die-cast zinc alloy body and a zinc-plated carbon steel (or stainless steel) drive nail.

Unlike plastic wall plugs which can melt or degrade under high heat, this all-metal anchor is totally fire-resistant, making it the mandatory choice for securing fire tracks, emergency lighting, and ceiling clips in commercial buildings. It offers a tamper-proof fixation that, once hammered in, is extremely difficult to remove.

Russian Name: Анкер-гвоздь цинковый / Анкер-клин металлический

Head Style: Mushroom Head (Standard) / Flat Head

Body Material: Zamac 5 Alloy (Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium-Copper)

Engineering Mechanics & Design

1. The “Hammer-Set” Principle

Speed is money on a construction site. The “Drive Anchor” design eliminates the need for a screwdriver or impact gun.

  • Installation: You simply drill a hole, insert the anchor through the fixture, and strike the nail head with a hammer.

  • Expansion: As the nail is driven down, it pushes the split sides of the zinc body outward. This expansion creates a powerful friction grip against the walls of the concrete or masonry hole.

  • Efficiency: An installer can set 10 of these anchors in the time it takes to screw in 2 standard masonry screws.

2. Why Choose Zamac (Zinc Alloy)?

The body is cast from Zamak, a family of alloys with a base metal of zinc and alloying elements of aluminium, magnesium, and copper.

  • Not Plastic: It won’t become brittle in freezing temperatures (cold storage rooms) or soften in hot environments (boiler rooms).

  • Shear Strength: Zinc alloy has a much higher shear strength than nylon, preventing the fixture from sliding down the wall under load.

  • Corrosion Resistance: Zinc naturally protects itself from rust, and when paired with a galvanized nail, it offers excellent longevity in dry and semi-dry environments.

3. Tamper-Proof Security

Once the nail is driven flush with the mushroom head, there is no drive recess (like Phillips or Torx) to engage a screwdriver. This makes the anchor effectively permanent and vandal-resistant, ideal for securing signage in public spaces or prison facilities.

Application Scenarios

  • Roofing Flashing: Securing metal termination bars (membrane strips) to concrete parapet walls.

  • HVAC & Electrical: Fastening conduit clips, pipe straps, and junction boxes where fire codes prohibit plastic plugs.

  • Drywall Track: Anchoring metal tracks to concrete floors in basement renovations.

  • Masonry Ties: Attaching brick ties to concrete columns.

Installation Guide (3 Simple Steps)

  1. Drill: Use a 1/4″ (6mm) masonry drill bit to drill a hole slightly deeper than the anchor length.

  2. Insert: Insert the anchor body through the fixture and into the hole. No need to separate the nail from the body.

  3. Hammer: Strike the nail head until it is flush with the anchor body. The fixture is now locked.
