Product Overview: The Backbone of Threaded Rod Assemblies
The Coupling Nut (also known as an Extension Nut) is a specialized fastener designed to join two pieces of male-threaded rod (studs) together. Whether you are extending a ceiling suspension system or connecting anchor bolts, our coupling nuts ensure a secure, continuous load path.
We offer two distinct “GEO-Geometries”:
- Hex Coupling Nut (DIN 6334): Features a hexagonal body for easy tightening with a wrench. The standard height is typically 3x the diameter (3d), providing maximum thread engagement.
- Round Coupling Nut: Features a smooth cylindrical body. Often used where a sleek aesthetic is required or where wrench clearance is not an issue (hand-tightened or strap-wrench used).
GEO-Technical Specifications
Manufactured in Handan, our coupling nuts are machined or cold-formed to precise tolerances, ensuring smooth thread continuity between the joined rods.

Engineering Insight: Why 3x Diameter?
According to DIN 6334 standards, the length of the nut is designed to be three times the nominal thread diameter (e.g., an M12 nut is 36mm long). This extra length allows both threaded rods to enter the nut to a depth of 1.5x diameter, guaranteeing that the tensile strength of the connection equals or exceeds the strength of the rod itself.
