The DIN 1142 Malleable Wire Rope Clip is a robust cable clamp designed to create load-bearing eye-terminations on steel wire ropes. Unlike the lighter commercial DIN 741 clips, these Heavy Duty clips feature a reinforced bridge (saddle) and stronger U-bolts, providing significantly higher holding power.

Manufactured from high-grade Malleable Cast Iron and finished with a thick galvanization, these clips are engineered to withstand outdoor environments, ensuring your rigging stays secure in construction, marine, and traction applications.

Engineering Insight: DIN 1142 vs. DIN 741

Why upgrade? While DIN 741 is cheap and suitable for static loads (like fencing), DIN 1142 is designed for critical applications where safety is paramount. It offers a larger gripping surface area and higher torque resistance.

Installation Tip (The Golden Rule): “Never saddle a dead horse.” Always place the saddle (bridge) on the live end (load-bearing side) of the rope, and the U-bolt on the dead end (cut end). This prevents crushing the wire strands that carry the load.
