What is a Carriage Bolt?
A Carriage Bolt (Read more on Wikipedia) is a type of fastener typically used to join wood to wood or wood to metal. It is easily distinguished by its smooth, mushroom-shaped head (dome head) and a square neck section immediately beneath it. Unlike standard hex bolts, the carriage bolt has no drive slot on the top, offering a sleek, snag-free finish that also adds a layer of security, as it cannot be unscrewed from the outer side.
The Function of the Square Neck
