The Heavy Hex Nut is the standard fastener for high-strength structural connections and high-temperature/high-pressure service. Compared to a standard hex nut, the “Heavy” profile features a wider width across flats and increased height, providing a larger bearing surface and greater thread engagement to prevent stripping under massive loads.
We manufacture these nuts to meet the most rigorous global standards:
- ASTM A194 Grade 2H: Quenched and tempered carbon steel, designed for use with A193 B7 studs in piping and pressure vessels.
- ASTM A563 Grade DH: Heat-treated carbon steel, designed for use with A325/A490 structural bolts in steel construction.
- DIN 6915 (EN 14399-4): High-strength structural bolting (HV) for preloading.
